Program Introduction

The Climatization and Cooling Technology Program, which began accepting associate degree students in the 2022–2023 academic year, was established under the Department of Electricity and Energy at the Mersin Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone Vocational School of Technical Sciences, founded by the decision of the Higher Education General Assembly dated May 21, 2020. The campus of the Vocational School of Technical Sciences benefits from all infrastructure, laboratory, and social facilities of the Mersin Organized Industrial Zone. One of the region's most important technological investments, the “Innovation and Digital Transformation Center, Model Factory,” located within the Mersin Organized Industrial Zone, is another advanced laboratory and application center that supports our students in their innovative projects.

The Climatization and Cooling Technology Program aims to train technicians capable of taking responsibility in enterprises and ensuring sustainability. The program equips students with the knowledge and skills related to the maintenance, repair, operation, project design, and cost calculations of air conditioning, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, installation technologies, computer-aided design (CAD), measurement and quality control, and hydraulic-pneumatic systems. In addition, graduates can pursue related undergraduate programs through DGS Exam administered by ÖSYM.

Program Objective

The objective of the program is to train qualified technicians who can install air conditioning and refrigeration systems in accordance with project standards, perform maintenance and servicing tasks, control costs and workflow, plan their professional activities, are aware of their professional ethical responsibilities, follow developments in their field, and possess lifelong learning skills.

Admission Requirements

Our program admits students based on their score in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), a part of the centralized placement exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).
